Phishing Scams – Don’t Panic!

CAA Saskatchewan has received calls and emails about fraudulent messages claiming to be from us. These scams often involve fake surveys, prize offers, or urgent membership updates. These messages are not from CAA.

Learn how to spot these scams and what to do if you’re targeted.

What Should You Do?

  • Don’t click on links or download attachments.
  • Don’t reply or provide personal or financial info.
  • Report it as a scam in your email app.
  • Delete the message immediately.

If You’ve Fallen for a Scam

If you believe you’ve been targeted by a scam, it’s important to act quickly. Contact your financial institution or credit card provider right away and report the incident to one of the following authorities:

The button states "Continue Process". 

At the bottom of the email, it states, "If you've already completed this step, no further action is needed." 

There's even an unsubscribe option at the bottom of the email.

There is a phone scam circulating. This is a scam and not from CAA!

On your phone, it will say it's from the CAA Engagement Team (email: noreply at rbfa.be).

Here is the body of the email:

Dear CAA Member:

We're excited to offer you an exclusive opportunity to receive a CAA Winter Safety Kit, designed to keep you prepared and safe during the winter months.

Our goal is to reward our valued members and emphasize the importance of staying safe on the road during cold and challenging conditions.

You have been specially selected to receive a Winter Safety Kit including essential items for your vehicle. Thank you for being a trusted CAA member.

CLAIM YOUR WINTER SAFETY KIT

Another variation of the phone scam they are inviting you to take part in a brief survey for a chance to receive a CAA Winter Safety Kit. The offer has an expiry date, with a countdown, and there is also a copyright logo and statement.

There is another email scam circulating asking members to Claim Your Winter Safety Kit.

The email reads: We're excited to offer you an exclusive opportunity to receive a CAA Winter Safety Kit, designed to keep you prepared and safe during the winter months. Our goal is to reward our valued members and emphasize the importance of staying safe on the road during cold and challenging conditions. You have been specially selected to receive a Winter Safety Kit including essential items for your vehicle.
